Nature Getaways | Weekend Birding Trip Mongolia
Bird Mongolia offers you bird watching and bird photography trip to the best birding spots during the weekends. If you are a nature lover, especially bird lover or a photographer and looking for short breaks or nature escapes, we welcome you to join our small group. A 2 or 3-day birding trips take you into the wild nature, the local and globally important birding destinations with photo and birding guide. There are also some iconic wild animals can be seen during the trips.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1 (Saturday). Early morning, we head to the chosen travel destination, the main birding spot by car. Most of the destinations connected with paved roads from Ulaanbaatar and during the birding activities we drive on earth road. Spend forenoon for birding and photographing, reaching campsite and settle up. Enjoy picnic lunch along with beauty of surrounding nature, beside the lake shore or in the forest depending on our destinations. Let us take the afternoon birding, including activities such as photography workshops, spotting and watching birdlife and pleasant nature walks. Come back to the campsite, take a relax, have dinner and nice talking around camp fire. We have night-sky photography session, as you know Mongolia is one of the best places for stargazing and night-sky photography, so we would not miss this opportunity while we are away from the city lights. Stay overnight in tent camp. (Snacks, L, D,)
Day 2 (Sunday). Chirping song birds wake us up. You can have early morning walk and we have chance take good shots or good watching of active song birds. After having good breakfast, let us leave the place and continue to birding. Depending on our chosen spots, we stop to photograph birds that we may have another good opportunity/different angle of view to capture them. We also do not miss the golden-hour photographing opportunities. Arrive around 9 PM in Ulaanbaatar (B, L, Snacks)

Our latest bird photography trip to the Gun Galuut NR was remarkably successful. We saw and photographed rare birds and iconic wild animals. The beginning of June is a good time to see migratory birds in Mongolia. The wetlands of Gun Galuut NR transform into the true paradise for birders, offering some of the best birding in Mongolia.
Weekend birding trip to the Gorkhi-Terelj National Park of Mongolia, the nearest biding spot from Ulaanbaatar city. The Park has large areas of forest steppe and mountain steppe, with alpine habitats on higher peaks, known as a home to globally threatened species of birds including Saker Falcon, Yellow-breasted Bunting, black-billed Capercaillie and some of iconic rare mammals such a Siberian Musk Deer, Eurasian Lynx and Eurasian Otter.
