Winter Birding Escape in Mongolia

Some of our favorite species have flown to south, but winter allows the stage for new birding pleasures in Mongolia. May someone think that traveling in Mongolia in winter is extremely hard, but please consider the good sides first. Mongolian winter has its own beauty and allows us to see and photograph many beautiful wintering birds. it is said that more than 100 species can be found in winter in Mongolia.

At Bird Mongolia, we are keen to record all resident and wintering birds in Mongolia. So our first winter birding escape started from the best birding spots near the capital city, Ulaanbaatar. We spent our our day in beautiful winter wonderland and observed 12 species of birds, including Bohemian Waxwing, Common Redpoll and other beautiful ones.
