The Northern Lapwing (Vanellus vanellus), is a bird in the plover family. It is common through temperate Eurasia. It has rounded wings and a crest. It is also the shortest-legged of the lapwings.

Population : The overall population trend is decreasing, although some populations have unknown trends

Habitat: Breeds in variety of wide open habitats with short vegetation or bare ground
